I’ve shared most of this audio here previously now have most of it on YouTube and the player makes it a little easier listen. There’s a small icon at the top-right of the player below that brings up all 14 clips in the playlist. It’s right next to the “settings” gear icon, after you start playing.

Back yard from the deck
About half a minute shot on the iPhone from the deck. Still amazed at the quality of audio with the iPhone’s tiny mic.
Old radio commercials (KBOA)
A YouTube playlist featuring oral history of KBOA, Kennett, MO. All of these are available as MP3 files at www.KBOA830.com.
Google+ Hangout
In the small town where Barb and I spent some of our best years, it was not uncommon for someone to pop in, without calling, with a six pack and just hang out. Before the evening was over, there could be 8 or 10 people, just hanging out. Nothing planned, no preparations.
I think that’s sort of what Google was going for with the Hangout feature on Google+. To make it that easy and that comfortable to hangout with friends. And I think they nailed it.
The video above does not do justice to the quality of the audio and video. Or to the ease of making it happen. I can easily imagine myself surfing mindlessly with the Hangout light on and people dropping by to chat for a few minutes..
You have to try it to appreciate it.
iMovie on the iPad
I’ve had the iPad2 for a while but hadn’t gotten around to doing any video, so I sat down with Jeff Moore, one the sellers for our company. He’d just returned the World Pork Expo so I asked him a few questions about the event.
I thought audio and video quality on the iPad was pretty good (I typically do a shitty job with lighting). And iMovie has some very nice features. I was a little disappointed with the title options but that might be just my lack of familiarity with the app.
Here’s a pretty good demo of the features
Snow Dogs
Barb took the dogs out a few times to play in the snow and as you can see from her video, they love it. Here’s Hattie with her beloved blue ball.

1Password
With more 120 logins and passwords to keep up with, a post-it note on the side of my monitor just doesn’t cut it. As for using one password for ALL of my accounts… I won’t dignify that with a comment. This little (6 min) tour doesn’t begin to do justice to 1Password, the Best of Category.
Tiny projector for iPhone/iPad
Tom Piper demos Laser Pico Projector. A little pricey at $450 but a cool gadget. Just not sure if/when/where I would use it. If the setting is cozy enough for this wee projector, why wouldn’t I just use my laptop or iPad? If I didn’t have those with me, however, the projector (almost exactly same size as iPhone) fits easily in my pocket. What do you think?
