Moving mulch

The Mulch Fairy visited my house this morning and left these two piles. Barb recently had some landscaping done and this is the culmination. She and a dozen gal pals are in Destin for a week and she expects this mulch to be… whatever you do with mulch… by the time she returns.

Knowing me as well as she does, she has hired some big strong lads to do what needs to be done, which –I assume– involves the red wheelbarrow thing you see peeking up from behind Mount Backache. Just so you know, if I choose to.

Fortress of Solitude

I spent some time cleaning up (and rearranging) my home office this weekend. One of our upstairs bedroom was turned into a “man cave” some years ago and I’m spending more and more time there (here).

With just the MacBook and wireless printer to move, it really didn’t take long. In the bad old PC days I had to label wires and cords to have any chance of getting everything hooked back up and working. I have a growing collection of power-strips that are no longer needed.

The room has a nice southern view looking out into the woods behind our house.

In the immortal words of Brian Wilson:

Now it’s dark and I’m alone
but I won’t be afraid
In my room

Snowy sunrise

Barb took the photo above yesterday morning when she took the dogs out for a romp in the snow. This is Hattie, the new pup. Barb is the Alpha Dog, our best photographer and a great human being. Will post more of her pix later.

Snow Dogs

Barb took the dogs out a few times to play in the snow and as you can see from her video, they love it. Here’s Hattie with her beloved blue ball.
